Our story began with a simple desire: to create something beautiful that also creates meaningful employment.

Inspired by relationships and experiences in Kenya, each House of Ellie piece begins as an original design, created in-house with intention and care. From there, it is brought to life in Kenya using locally sourced materials, where talented women artisans hand print, cut, and sew every piece in small batches. We believe meaningful employment strengthens families, creates opportunity, and contributes to thriving communities. Through every collection, we are committed to creating products with purpose while celebrating the artistry behind each piece.

Thank you for being part of our story.

Why House of Ellie?

The name House of Ellie was inspired by my love of elephants. I’ve always admired the way elephant herds are led by matriarchs who guide, protect, and care for their young. Their quiet, steady leadership creates strength and stability for the entire herd.

That same spirit is reflected in the heart behind House of Ellie and our desire to create opportunities for women in Kenya. Through skilled craftsmanship and meaningful employment, women are able to provide for their families, care for those they love, and help build stronger communities.
